Shea Engineering Services, was founded in 2008 by Chrys Shea.
Prior to launching the company, Chrys Shea spent over 20 years working various Process Engineering and Management roles for Compac Computer, Texas Instruments, Siemens, Motorola and Cookson Electronics.
Chrys began publishing her research on Wave Soldering in 1998. Her expertise includes a wide range of Surface Mount Technology and Wave Soldering topics, with specialization in stencil printing and an emphasis on miniaturization.
Chrys is considered a soldering expert. She is a frequent speaker at industry events, and has been recognized by SMTA as a "Member of Technical Distinction". Additionally, she received the SMTAI "Best of Conference" award for her work on solder paste printing - 4 times!
Chrys Shea earned her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UMass Amherst, M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and after 20 years in the industry, launched Shea Engineering Services 13 years ago to pursue independent SMT consulting.
